How I got started in MMA

Alex Caceres Written by Alex Caceres Thursday September 30 2010

I got started in MMA when I was 14 when I joined the Killian wrestling team and that is where I met Enrico Cocco and he introduced me to Mixed Martial Arts.

After that I really enjoyed what I was doing and I began to train with the Young Tiger Foundation in muay thai kick boxing and began to do some amateur fights.

That is pretty much how I got started in MMA and my goal is to always improve myself and always be better then I was yesterday.

I am currently a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter 12” on Spike TV, and I have already had two matches against Paul Barrow and defeated him in the first round with a Rear naked choke and my second fight was against Jeffery Lentz and I defeated him in the second round with a triangle choke.

Winning my first two fights puts me into the quarter finals and if I win there I will go to the semi finals and then to the final which will decide the Ultimate fighter 12 champion.

If I win, I will get a six figure contract with UFC and right now I feel that my chances are very good, but the odds are stacked against me because of my size and weight.

But I’m going to give it everything I got and try my best to win and make it all the way.
